Prayer Ministry at Covenant

In addition to the prayer of the church at Sunday morning worship, twenty-five intercessors are available to pray for concerns of members who submit written requests at Sunday worship or by email.

The requests are sent by email. Prayer guidelines are followed to keep requests confidential. New intercessors are welcome to participate.

Call to prayer on Wednesdays at 11:30 AM is an opportunity for anyone to take a "prayer break" and pray with others in a small group.

An additional time for personal prayer with another brother or sister in Christ on Sunday mornings follows the worship services. The "prayer corner" is the area behind the pulpit and baptismal font.

There are many scripture references to pray for one another in the body of Christ. James 5:13-16 (RSV) is an example:

Is any one among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil, in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faithful will save the sick man, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects.
