Children learn through play!
Covenant Lutheran Church's MDO believes in play! We strive to give children various opportunities to learn through free play and structured play. It is in this safe and secure environment that children can learn social skills and gain foundational knowledge that prepares them for their next steps.
Tuition and Fees
Non-Refundable Registration Fee - $105 per child
Half-Day - $170/month
9:00am to 12:00pm
Full-Day - $200/month
9:00am to 2:00pm
Payment made by cash or check receives a $5 discount.
Card payment is available below.
A monthly discount of 10% will be applied to the tuition paid via cash or check of each additional sibling who is enrolled.

THE TEAM
Carrie, DirectorMy name is Carrie Blunt, and I am the director at Covenant Lutheran Mothers’ Day Out. I grew up in multiple cities in Texas before graduating from high school in Midland, Texas. I graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a degree in Elementary Education. After graduating, I taught 6th grade English/Language Arts/Reading in Victoria, Aransas Pass, Conroe, and Temple for a total of 14 years. I also raised our 3 children (1 boy and 2 girls) and 3 nieces. We are now the proud grandparents of 5 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. Prior to becoming the Director, I was a teacher in the 1’s, 2’s, and 3’s classes.
I am excited to continue to be at Covenant Lutheran Mother’s Day Out. I love working with children and the fantastic teachers here. Coming here to “work” is more like having fun and being able to play! When I am not working, I enjoy reading Christian fiction, walking around my neighborhood, attending Ladies Bible Class, completing needle projects, collecting stamps, and most of all, doing activities with my family. |
Sharleen, Older 2 year oldsMy name is Sharleen, and I started at CLMDO in the winter of the 2025-2026 semester. I am a military spouse and a mother of 4 with kids ranging from 2 to 11. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Child and Family Development, and a masters in Educational Research and Assessment. After having children, I realized my calling was being home for this season of life. As soon as I toured CLMDO I immediately fell in love with the philosophy of play being the center of the children’s learning. I enjoy reading, crocheting, going to concerts, and watching my children chase their dreams.

Liss, Younger 2 year oldsMy name is Liss, and I started at CLMDO as a parent. I loved the school’s philosophy and atmosphere for my own kids, and I am grateful to be able to continue that joy and welcome new families. I am a Belton native and my husband and I have two children in Belton schools. I have led the toddlers class team at my church for several years and have worked at CLMDO for four years. I enjoy horse riding, reading, and traveling.

Johanna, 1 year oldsHello! My name is Johanna. I was born and raised in the Philippines and moved to the US in 2013. I have a husband and two boys, ages 12 and 5 years old. I started working in CL-Mother's Day Out in 2021 where I worked with children ages 12-18 months. I enjoyed my time nurturing these kids and seeing their development. I have a great time working at CLMDO because of the environment and the love we get from the children.

Maranda, Younger 3 year oldsHello. My name is Maranda Bahr. My husband and I have been married for less than a year and both of us have lived in Central Texas for most of our lives. I am so excited to be working with your children two days a week and getting them ready for school life!

Susan, Older 3 year olds I was born and raised in Northwest Indiana. I went to college and received my degree in Deaf Education at Ball State University. The program focused on Language and Communication Development. The first few years after I graduated I taught in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia and then returned to Indiana. In 1985, I moved to Brownsville, Texas, to teach at the Regional Day School for the Deaf. I took over as the Assistive Technology Coordinator in 2005 and remained there until 2017, when I officially retired.
I moved to Temple in 2019 to be closer to my family. I have two sons, their wives, as well as two grandsons and a granddaughter living in Austin. |

My name is Mamie. I was born and raised in Houston, TX. My husband and I have four children; one daughter and three boys. We have a granddaughter, and a grandson. We have lived in CO, GA, and TX following his military career.
My experience with children comes with being a stay at home mom. Two of our boys are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Learning and living with these experiences has allowed me to shape my way of helping and leading children. I love working with children, and getting them engaged in learning something new. I love to volunteer for my children’s schools. My hobbies are watching movies, drawing, and painting. I hope to have a great year, getting to know you and the children. |
Hi, my name Jessica and I love being part of CLMDO. My role includes financial reporting and assisting the Director. All of my children attended this program prior to entering public school. Our family loved the learning environment and all the people we met!
